About me:
My name is Jessica McClendon and I teach 3rd grade math. I am married and I have one daughter. My daughter is about to be 2 years old and the way she learns and her brain absorbs everything just truly amazes me. She is starting to learn how to count...sometimes she says "1,2,3" and sometimes she just says "5,6" but as a math teacher, seeing her starting to develop number sense (When counting the buttons in the book Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons) makes me so HAPPY!!! But, enough about my little bundle of joy :)
I have been teaching 3rd grade math for 4 years. I do not remember LOVING math when I was in school, so my goal is to make my students truly enjoy coming in my classroom and learning. I want them to understand that math can be fun! I also want my students to understand the real applications of math and how they will be able to use it for the rest of their lives.
